Budapest Bus Tickets are available at vending machines at major bus stops or can be purchased from the driver where indicated (although on a higher price). We recommend to buy your travel pass in advance – or have a Budapest Card with you to gain free access to all public transportation in Budapest. Remember to validate your bus ticket immediately after boarding the vehicle to avoid a fine (from HUF 8000 if paid on the spot).

Budapest Bus Tickets & Passes

To avoid any inconveniences of having to buy a bus ticket every time before you travel – we recommend to order a Budapest Card online (with free hotel delivery) to travel within Budapest free of charge, and to have lots of great benefits and discounts in the city. Public transport is complimentary for visitors of 65 years or older (but only for citizens of EU, EEA countries and Switzerland – if you are from the US or Asia for example, you will need to buy a normal ticket).

  • Tickets are no print: you can show your e-ticket on your phone to check in.
  • Tickets are sent to the email address that you provide when filling in the booking form for the program of your choice. Please double check your email before sending the form, or contact us via email if you feel that your email address may have been misspelt, and the digital ticket will be sent to your correct address. We are happy to assist with re-sending the ticket, or providing information if you should have further questions.
  • Tickets are sent and managed in our online system to follow all details / changes as accurately as possible. We do not accept phone reservations or requests of change over the phone to minimise misunderstandings.

In addition, each e-ticket includes a last minute phone number, if you should have difficulties with navigation / time. Please note that programmes start at the hours as advertised. Late arrival for the programme is not accepted, although we will try our best to help you join the tour, we need to take into consideration other guests’ programmes and schedules in Budapest.
